Google Donates $40 Million to World and Bay Area

Posted by

Google decided to give an early Christmas present to … the world? The company is giving $40 million to organizations for causes such as fighting slavery, strengthening education and making technology more available.

It’s a very impressive and admirable feat for Google to help others and have a positive impact outside of their company’s products. Normally I’d have some joke or remark about Google (like how creepy Gmail and the search engine have become since they learn how to adapt frighteningly accurate search results depending on where you live), but I think it would be missing the point too much.

If you’d like to see the list of recipients from the Bay Area, click here.
