If you’re anything like me, you are the resident master of technology amongst your family, friends, or co-workers. They rely on you to walk them through simple computing. Increasingly user-friendly tasks such as opening a downloaded file, setting up a printer, or syncing a smartphone are enough to paralyze your non-techie pals. So they call you.
The worst such call you can receive is the I Think I Might Have a Virus call. These internet amateurs are clicking on every free deal/important message graphic that finds its way onto their browser. So you take their computer home and spend your evening frustrated by their web-foolishness or even worse, you go to their place and deal with their postulating and hovering as they attempt to help you make their machine go fast.
Wipe the sweat from your brow and rejoice with the Jumpshot, a cute USB stick that will save you countless hours of PC doctoring misery. The diagram below explains how Jumpshot simply plugs in, sedates the computer, and puts its minions to work in the background removing all the crap that slows the computer down while you continue to browse and click away. Sure, you’ll still be the go-to tech guy, you’ll still be plagued by the needs of the computer illiterate, but at least you’ll have Officer Pete to cover the house calls.
Funding this Kickstarter project will give you early access to Jumpshot software before it arrives preloaded on one of three fun characters: Officer Pete, Kobayashi, and Sir Jeffrey, plus t-shirts, stickers and temporary tats. Check out the following tongue-in-cheek video for an entertaining look at the concept.
